General Bidding Information

SEALED BIDS
All purchases of goods and/or services estimated in value to be in excess of the $50,000.00 are advertised by the Cobb County Purchasing Department on the Cobb County website (www.cobbcounty.org) and in the Marietta Daily Journal.

To view a list of formal bids or proposals visit the Cobb County Purchasing website (purchasing. cobbcountyga.gov). PDF versions of bid documents and advertisements may be viewed from this site. To request a paper copy of any formal bid or proposal, note the bid/proposal number and contact the Purchasing Department via:

A copy of bids/proposals documents may also be obtained upon request from the Cobb County Purchasing Department located at 1772 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30008.

All formal bid/proposal responses must be delivered to the Cobb County Purchasing Department before12:00 (noon) on the date indicated in the bid/proposal documents. All bid/proposals must be properly sealed and marked with the Company’s Name, Bid Name and Bid Number on the envelope or packaging.

Addenda (Addendum if just one)
It may become necessary to release addenda for changes to a solicitation. Addenda modify the original bid to signify changes in bid/proposal documents, such as the bid opening date, specifications, and terms and conditions. All addenda must be submitted with bid/proposal responses.

The Purchasing Department will take reasonable steps to ensure that known perspective bidders have all applicable addenda. However, it is the ultimate responsibility of the bidder/proposer to ensure that they have all applicable addenda prior to bid/proposal submission. All bidders/proposers are encouraged to contact the Purchasing Department prior to finalizing their submission.

GENERAL PURCHASING QUOTATION REQUEST - SMALL PURCHASES
The Cobb County Purchasing Department solicits Quotation Requests for the procurement of goods/services estimated in value to be less than the formal sealed bid limit. Quotation Requests are considered “informal”.

Quotation Requests under $10,000.00 may be verbally requested, faxed or e-mailed to vendors for responses. Quotation Requests between $10,000.00 and $50,000.00 are published on the Cobb County Purchasing Vendor Self Service (VSS) website: www.cobbpurchasing.org or solicited via telephone or facsimile. Responses to Quotation Requests must be received by the date/time specified and may be faxed or e-mailed to the respective buyer.

If a company is interested in receiving Quotation Requests for the commodities or services requested, contact the Cobb County Purchasing Department by telephone at (770) 528-8400; by fax to (770) 528-8428; or by E-mail at purchasing@cobbcounty.org. Please allow sufficient time for the quotation to be mailed or faxed. A copy of a quote may also be obtained from the Purchasing Department at 1772 County Services Parkway, Marietta, GA 30082.
